This book chronicles the fruit and vegetable canning industry in Ontario and Canada and tells the intriguing story of Mr. Rider's life. Mr. Rider began his career in the canning industry in 1951 as a production employee at the Canadian Canners Ltd. Simcoe Ontario plant. During his 40-year career, Joe worked with food companies such as Canadian Canners, Del Monte and Nabisco. He became Plant Manager of several Ontario operations - in Simcoe, Dresden, Exeter, St. Davids - as well as plants in Penticton and Vancouver, BC.
