Charles Hugh Mountford was born in Fort William, Ontario, before it became part of Thunder Bay, and is still keenly interested in happenings there. He attended the University of Western Ontario (MA, English), and the University of London where he is a dissertation away from a PhD in Librarianship. He speaks, reads, and writes French and Persian and is working (very slowly), on translations of poetry from those languages. "The Harvestman" explores the excitement and delight of story in a way that manages to be simple, straightforward and deeply felt. His poems are sometimes funny, sometimes touching and sometimes sad. He has his own voice...clear, sensible and charming.
